The Scan Earplug Dispenser with 250 Pairs provides a convenient, practical and accessible hearing protection solution for factories, workshops, construction sites and other noisy working environments.
Each earplug is manufactured from soft, energy-absorbing polymer foam, designed to compress easily before expanding inside the ear canal to provide a comfortable, secure fit.
The expanding foam helps create an effective acoustic seal, reducing the amount of noise reaching the eardrum while allowing the wearer to retain some awareness of surrounding sounds.
With a Single Number Rating (SNR) of 34 dB, these industrial earplugs provide a high level of tested sound attenuation when correctly fitted and worn.
The dispenser contains 250 pairs of foam earplugs, making it a practical option for workplaces that need to provide hearing protection to multiple employees or visitors.
Designed for flexible positioning, the dispenser can be wall-mounted or used free-standing, allowing businesses to locate hearing protection close to noisy work areas, entrances or designated PPE stations.
The earplugs conform to EN352-2, the European standard for earplugs, and have a recommended shelf life of three years, subject to the manufacturer's storage guidance.

SNR 34 dB Hearing Protection
The Scan Foam Earplugs have a Single Number Rating (SNR) of 34 dB, indicating a high level of sound attenuation under standardised test conditions.
The SNR rating provides a useful reference when selecting hearing protection for noisy working environments.
Benefits of SNR 34 dB Earplugs
-
Helps reduce noise exposure
-
Suitable for many industrial noise environments
-
Practical for workshops and production areas
-
Supports workplace hearing conservation measures
-
Provides a tested basis for hearing protection selection
Important: An SNR of 34 dB does not guarantee that every wearer will experience a 34 dB reduction in all working conditions.
Actual protection depends on correct insertion, individual fit, wearing time and the frequency characteristics of the noise.
Employers should assess workplace noise exposure and select suitable hearing protection using the relevant attenuation data.
Soft Energy-Absorbing Polymer Foam
The Scan Earplugs are manufactured from soft, energy-absorbing polymer foam.
This material is designed to compress during insertion and gradually expand to follow the shape of the ear canal.
The expanding foam helps create a comfortable acoustic seal that reduces the transmission of sound into the ear.
Foam Earplug Benefits
-
Soft material for comfortable use
-
Easily compressed for insertion
-
Expands to fit the ear canal
-
Helps form an effective acoustic seal
-
Practical for routine industrial use
-
Suitable for many users when correctly fitted
The foam construction is particularly useful in workplaces where employees need hearing protection for extended periods.
Compress-and-Expand Fit
The Scan Foam Earplugs use a simple compress-and-expand fitting system.
The user compresses the foam earplug before inserting it into the ear canal.
Once inserted, the foam gradually expands to provide a secure fit.
Advantages of the Expanding Foam Design
-
Adapts to the shape of the ear canal
-
Helps minimise gaps that allow noise to enter
-
Provides a comfortable fit
-
Simple insertion process
-
Supports effective hearing protection when worn correctly
A proper seal is essential. Incorrectly fitted earplugs can provide significantly less protection than their stated rating.
Maintains Awareness of Surrounding Sounds
The Scan Earplugs are designed to reduce noise reaching the eardrum while maintaining some aural contact with the surrounding environment.
This can be beneficial in industrial workplaces where employees need to remain aware of their surroundings.
However, hearing protection can reduce the audibility of speech, alarms and warning signals.
Users must ensure that essential communications and safety warnings remain detectable while wearing the earplugs.
Convenient 250-Pair Dispenser
The Scan Earplug Dispenser contains 250 pairs of foam earplugs, making it suitable for workplaces with regular hearing protection requirements.
The dispenser provides a central location where workers and authorised visitors can access earplugs when needed.
Dispenser Benefits
-
Large supply of 250 pairs
-
Convenient workplace distribution
-
Helps organise hearing protection supplies
-
Reduces the need for frequent replenishment
-
Practical for shared PPE stations
-
Suitable for industrial and commercial premises
The dispenser is especially useful in workplaces where several people may require ear protection throughout the working day.
Wall-Mounted or Free-Standing Design
The Scan Earplug Dispenser can be used in two configurations.
Wall-Mounted
The dispenser can be positioned on a suitable wall close to areas where hearing protection is required.
Potential locations include:
-
Workshop entrances
-
Factory production areas
-
Maintenance departments
-
Designated PPE stations
-
Industrial access points
Free-Standing
The dispenser can also be placed on a suitable stable surface.
This provides flexibility where permanent wall mounting is not practical.
Free-standing placement may be useful for temporary work areas, maintenance stations and changing workplace layouts.
The supplied specification does not identify the mounting hardware included.
EN352-2 Hearing Protection Standard
The Scan Foam Earplugs conform to EN352-2, the European standard covering earplug hearing protectors.
This standard addresses relevant requirements for earplug design, performance and testing.
The stated SNR 34 dB provides an indication of the earplugs' tested noise attenuation.
EN352-2 Benefits
-
Recognised hearing protection standard
-
Supports informed PPE selection
-
Provides a basis for tested attenuation performance
-
Relevant to industrial and occupational hearing protection
The specific edition of EN352-2 has not been supplied.
Industrial Hearing Protection
The Scan Earplug Dispenser is described as having an industrial rating, making it a practical choice for demanding workplace environments.
It is suitable for supplying hearing protection in settings where employees may be exposed to machinery, tools and other sources of potentially harmful noise.
The dispenser also helps make hearing protection readily accessible as part of a workplace PPE programme.

This helps businesses plan stock rotation and manage workplace PPE supplies.
Storage Recommendations
-
Store in a clean, dry environment.
-
Protect from excessive heat.
-
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
-
Keep away from contamination.
-
Follow the manufacturer's storage instructions.
-
Check product condition before use.
-
Observe any stated expiry or replacement guidance.
The recommended shelf life should not be confused with the period for which an individual pair can be worn.
Replace earplugs when they become dirty, damaged or no longer expand and seal correctly.
How to Fit Scan Foam Earplugs
Correct insertion is essential to achieve effective hearing protection.
-
Wash and dry your hands before handling the earplugs.
-
Take a clean pair from the dispenser.
-
Roll one earplug between your fingers to compress it into a narrow cylinder.
-
Reach over your head with the opposite hand and gently pull the top of your ear upwards and backwards.
-
Insert the compressed earplug into the ear canal.
-
Hold it in place while the foam expands.
-
Repeat with the other ear.
-
Check that both earplugs feel secure and provide an effective seal.
If an earplug does not fit correctly, remove it and use a clean replacement.
Do not force an earplug into the ear canal.
Important Hearing Protection Information
Hearing protection must be selected according to the noise hazards of the workplace.
The Scan Foam Earplugs should be used as part of an appropriate hearing conservation programme where required.
For effective protection:
-
Wear both earplugs correctly.
-
Ensure a secure acoustic seal.
-
Keep earplugs clean before insertion.
-
Replace damaged or contaminated earplugs.
-
Wear protection throughout the period of hazardous noise exposure.
-
Follow workplace hearing protection procedures.
-
Check that alarms and essential communications remain audible.
Important: Earplugs reduce noise exposure but do not eliminate all sound. They should not be used as a substitute for appropriate workplace noise control measures.
